KUCHING: A one-day course on the Sales and Services Tax (SST) will be organised by 3ntity Sdn Bhd in Kuching, Miri, Sibu and Bintulu to help companies and businesses adjust and make plans for transition to better understanding the features and scope of the taxationsystem.
According to a publicity release, the course will start on Aug 1 at Harbour View Hotel Kuching followed by Mega Hotel Miri (Aug 4), Harbour View Hotel Kuching (Aug 27), Paramount Hotel Sibu (Aug 28) and Promenade Hotel (Aug 29).
Trainers Tan Kok Tee and Santhanasamy Subbiah, who are consultants each with over 30 years of experience in accounting, finance, income tax, Goods and Services Tax (GST) and also SST will conduct the course.
The Royal Malaysian Customs Department has released the much awaited framework for the new reintroduced SST which will come into effect on Sept 1, 2018.
The framework provides a high level overview on implementation models, thresholds, scope as well as FAQs related to the new taxes.
For existing GST registrants, an automatic transfer to the new tax regime is expected.
For companies which are eligible but have yet to register, they would have to do so before the deadline.
Course fee is at RM350 per person (inclusive of lunch, tea breaks, 150-page course materials and a certificate of attendance).
