Sarawakian artistes heat up Unity 722 concert

KUCHING: The best of Sarawakian entertainers and musicians capped off Sarawak Day 2018 celebration at Celebration Square in Sarawak

The spectators were treated to a powerful series of performances featured in the special ‘Unity 722’ concert on Sunday night.

The line-up included Sarawakian artistes Amir Jahari, Ricky Andrewson, Dayangku Fadzilah, Esther Thien, Emil Hamlyn and Nisa Addina, as well as popular bands At Adau and D’Cipta.

The crowd cheered even louder when Malaysian diva Dayang Nurfaizah and chart-topping crooner Hafiz Suip emerged on stage. Both Kuching-born singers later crooned hit songs from their past and current albums.

The show was also peppered with laughter as emcees Zaki Zaidi and Iwan Dasri delivered jokes and playful banters that left the audience in stitches.

In between segments, the organiser slotted in modern and traditional dance performances.

According to a spokesperson of Sarawak Protocol and Public Relations Unit under the Chief Minister’s Department, the concert was part of the activities organised by the Sarawak government to celebrate Sarawak Day this year.

Assistant Minister of Rural Electricity Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali also attended the concert.
