KUCHING: A 75-year-old woman was decapitated after she was slashed in the neck in an incident that happened at about 2.30pm at Rumah Lumpong Bratong Baru in Roban, Saratok today.
According to state CID chief SAC Denis Leong, the incident happened when the victim was in her room and a 58-year-old man staying nearby intruded and slashed the victim with a machete.
“Upon receiving the report, a team from Roban Police Station proceeded to the murder scene and managed to locate the said longhouse and arrest the suspect.
“A machete believed to be the murder weapon was seized,” he said in a press statement today.
Leong said the case is classified as murder and investigation will also focus on the motive and the mental state of the suspect.
