MIRI: A girl lodged a police report on Monday night, stating that she was intimidated by her mother’s boyfriend and a few of his friends.
The 18-year-old said prior to the incident, she got into a heated argument with her mother at the former’s house in Tudan Desaras here.
The fight was triggered when the girl demanded that her younger brother, who was at their mother’s place in the city centre, be sent back to her house in that he had to go to school the next day.
The situation escalated further as her mother called her boyfriend, who later came to the house with several men to intimidate the girl.
However, the men and the girl’s mother left the scene immediately after seeing the arrival of patrollers from Pujut Residents’ Committee (RC), who rushed to the house after receiving a complaint from one of the neighbours around 9.30pm.
It is learnt that the girl and her four siblings – aged five, nine, 11 and 14 – have been separated from their mother since three months ago.
It is also said that their father passed away a few years ago.
The RC Pujut patrollers accompanied the girl to lodge a police report.
