The enforcement operation being carried out at Jalan Matang-Kuching yesterday.
KUCHING: A multi-agency operation carried out along Jalan Matang-Kuching here yesterday saw 10 road users test positive for drugs.
The offenders were nabbed in just a few hours following the commencement of the operation, which was carried out by the Road Transport Department (JPJ), police, Immigration Department, National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (MACC).
JPJ Sarawak enforcement unit head Erick Jusiang said the operation involved a total of 64 personnel comprising 30 from JPJ, AADK (14), Immigration (13), police (5), and MACC (2).
“Today’s (yesterday) operation is to check vehicles and drivers for various offences. We will continue to work with other agencies to carry out similar operations in future,” he said.
Erick added that yesterday’s operation was the second for this year, with the third and fourth series to be held ‘soon’.
