Geronimo is set for comeback win in Race Three.

KUCHING: Geronimo is on track for a return to the winner’s circle on the First Day of the August Meeting at the Mile 8 Penrissen Course here this morning.

The seven-year-old can atone for two consecutive unplaced runs last meeting with a stronger showing to thump the field of eight in Race Three (Class III – 1000).

With leading jockey Roslan Bujang up and a handy 52kg and No. 3 marble, the W Stable’s galloper has a bright chance to close a lean chapter by scoring a comeback win today.

The challenge should come from Beraya (Jasmi Kamar) and Bojeng (Hamid Elli).

Bukan Lawan Nya looks set to give Jasmi Kamar a winning ride in Race Five (Class I – 1000M).

The eight-year-old was promoted back to Class One after an impressive double in Class Two last meeting. Weighing out nicely at 56kg and drawn in a good barrier two, he has a clear edge.

The challenge can come from any one of the four remaining runners – Monolita (Amin Abang), Dream Catcher II (Roslan Bujang), Black Russian (Othman Putit) and Suaji (Mazlan Bujang).

King De Lago (Othman Putit), an impressive last start winner in Class Three, can defy promotion to score first up in Class II (Race Four) over 1000M.

The rangy four-year-old has trained on and with a drop of 10kg and a safe No. 4 marble, should get off the mark in the higher class today. The dangers are Wind Chaser (Roslan Bujang) and Rambo (Jasmi Kamar).
