MIRI: A motorcyclist who was injured in a collision with a lorry here on Tuesday has succumbed to his injuries.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Zehan Amir Razak of Kampung Muhibbah in Kuala Baram, passed away at 9am yesterday at Miri Hospital where he had been warded.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu in a statement said police have classified the case under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 following the passing of the victim.
“The incident happened around 5pm on Tuesday at Miri Bypass-Kuala Baram traffic light intersection.
“Our initial investigation showed the victim was travelling towards Permyjaya from Sungai Liku when a lorry exited from a junction and collided with him,” he said.
Alexson also disclosed that the investigation found the traffic light was not functioning at the time of the accident.
