LIMBANG: A Bruneian was arrested early this morning for trespassing the Tedungan Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex here.

The suspect, 35, from Batu Limau Manis Base was detained at 1.15am by RELA member on duty before being handed over to police personnel from Bambangan Police Station.

Limbang District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Bukhori Saffai said the suspect trespassed the Tedungan ICQS area by climbing and damaging the fence opposite the Rela station at the departure section of the complex.

“Initial investigation found that the suspect was not in time to return to Brunei because the Malaysia-Brunei border closed at 12pm.

“The suspect came in a car with a friend who slept in the car, while he himself climbed the fence alone attempting to return to Brunei before being arrested earlier this morning,” he told the media today.

Mohd Bukhori said the fence was damaged after the suspect had climbed it.

The case will be investigated under Section 447 of the Penal Code.
