KUCHING: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) will carry out internal investigation into the leak of the 10 points understanding with its partners in Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) to the media.

However, the party president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian did not disclose when the investigation would start.

“I am disappointed with the leak (of the 10 points understanding)..I am also very disappointed because newspapers published the leak, and the party will carry out internal investigation,” he told reporters after officiating at Padawan Minicipal Council (MPP) 22nd anniversary at its compound today.

Dr Sim added that SUPP will always support Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg to lead GPS as spelt out in one of the 10 points.

On Aug 12 during SUPP Annual Delegates Conference (ADC), the party adopted the the 10 points understanding, but was not revealed to the media.

However, it was published in the media and soon caught the attention of few political leaders, including Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) vice president Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who urged the party to be patient and pursue its struggle under GPS.

United People’s Party (UPP) secretary general George Lo viewed the understanding as a wish list by SUPP.
