SIBU: The Swan Square has availed 28  stalls at its ‘Old China Town Cultural Street’ for interested business-minded youngsters to get involved in businesses.

Swan Square owner and EPISO Group of Companies managing director Dato David Goh Kien Ping said they target to attract people aged 35 or below.

“Contact our Swan Square Complex manager Kee Kuong Siong (016-8892025) for registration,” he told those interested.

He said applicants will be screened to ensure only those doing acceptable businesses will be given the opportunity.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, David said the concept of ‘Old China Town Cultural Street’ is ‘One Stall One Product’.

“For example, a stall that sells watches will make available all the parts and accessories related to watches,” he explained.

With David at the press conference were EPISO Group of Companies executive director Dato Goh Kiang Ann and Swan Square Complex manager Kee Kuong Siong.

According to David, the ‘Old China Town Cultural Street’ is also open to people from the bumiputera community. “We want to see a good racial mix here,” he said.

The main objective of the ‘Old China Town Cultural Street’ is to provide youngsters with business opportunities.

“This is part of our corporate social responsibility,” he added.

Meanwhile, David said they also provide soft loan of RM5,000 from their credit firm for those who really need it as seed money for their business.

Old China Town Cultural Street will come alive about two to three months from now.
