MIRI: A man was killed while his wife and son were injured in a road accident near the Miri Hospital junction at Jalan Bypass Miri yesterday.
District police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the deceased has been identified as Chong Chun Fah, 45.
“Based on initial investigation, the family was heading towards Emart Tudan from Taman Tunku. Upon reaching the Miri Hospital junction, their pickup truck skidded to the right side of the road and overturned several times.”
According to Lim, Chong sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife and 14-year-old son suffered injuries to their body and were taken to Miri Hospital for treatment.
The case has been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
