Datin Seri Joan Maluda
KOTA KINABALU: Datin Seri Joan Maluda, wife of Parti Bersatu Sabah Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili, passed away peacefully today.
She was 63.
Joan passed away from a her long illness at their residence in Kampung Kolopis, Penampang, at 2.15pm, with her family members by her side.
Ongkili, who is also the Kota Marudu Member of Parliament, said public can pay their last respects during her funeral service at the SIB Church in Likas on Sept 9 (Sunday) at 1pm.
“We thank you for the wishes and prayers. She was a loving wife and great wholesome mother. She will be deeply missed,” said Ongkili.
Joan was among the first batch of Sabahans who graduated from the YS-ITM Sabah Campus in 1975.
The couple has two children, lawyer cum Pastor, Rachel Jane, and son, Jordan.
