BETONG: Two houses in Kampung Melayu Pasa near here were damaged by fallen trees early on Monday.
Both houses suffered damage to the roofing over their kitchens.
Betong Fire and Rescue Department operations officer Henry Jugah said the incident occurred following heavy rain and strong winds, which led to flooding.
“We received a report about the incident in Kampung Melayu Pasa. We believe that the big trees had fallen because of the damp soil, which could not hold the trees anymore,” he said.
Firefighters helped to remove the fallen trees and also to clear the debris.
