SIBU: The third edition of Subaru Challenge Cup-Sibu Open Drag Race 2018 concluded with great success at the old Sibu airport on Sunday afternoon.

Sibu MP Oscar Ling was in attendance to present the prizes.

The three-day event organised by PB Motorsport in collaboration with Kelab Pemilik 4 x 4 Sibu and Nangka Service Centre comprised motorcycles, motorcars and 4 x 4 (off-road) of various categories.

According to founder of Hope Place Kuching, Kelvin Wan, who coordinated the event, more than 200 participants from across Sarawak and Brunei were recorded.

He said it was aimed to promote a healthy form of motorsports, and to keep away youth from being involved in social ills such as drug-taking.

He also said it was aimed to raise fund for three charitable organisations, namely, Sibu Society for the Blind, Central Region Single Mothers Association and Hope Place Kuching.
