Malaysia Day blood donation drive to be held at mall

MIRI:  The Malaysian Red Crescent ( MRC)  Blood Donor Recruitment Committee , Miri District in collaboration with Sarawak Bank Employees Union (SBEU) and Moving Communities Team will hold a blood donation drive in conjunction with the Malaysia Day celebration.

The campaign to be held at the ground floor of  Imperial Mall this Sunday (Sept 16) from 9.30am-1pm aimed to help replenish supply  at the Miri Hospital Blood Bank.

The event co-organising chairpersons Karambir Singh, Mohd Khairul Ariffin Bolhadi and Doreen Kalang in a joint statement yesterday said they aimed to collect 60 pints at the drive.

The statement added that Miri Hospital Blood Transfusion Service relies heavily on these mobile blood donation drives organised on weekends to ensure adequate blood supply at the hospital.

The organiser appealed to members of the public to come forward and help contribute towards the success of this noble campaign.

Each blood donor will receive a Certificate of Appreciation.
