MIRI: Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Miri deputy chairman Wesly Ancho will defend his seat during the branch’s annual general meeting (AGM) on Oct 20.
The AGM will be held at the PKR Miri Service Centre from 9am to 5pm.
“I’m seeking for another term as deputy chairman. Apart from retaining the post, I would like to strengthen the party branch’s struggle and reform agenda,” Wesly said.
He called for the party’s top leaders to always take care of and safeguard the needs of PKR grassroots members and supporters here.
Christina Kelit is seeking to contest for the PKR Miri Women’s chairperson’s post, while Ricky Bakir hopes to contest for the PKR Miri vice-chairman’s post.
Christina, who hails from Sibuti, is expected to face a straight fight with a PKR member who currently serves at Miri member of parliament Dr Michael Teo’s service centre.
Dr Teo was returned unopposed as PKR Miri chairman during the party’s Sarawak-wide nominations in July.
