SEBERANG JAYA: PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said the party’s decision to vacate the Port Dickson parliamentary seat should not be prolonged and it should focus on ensuring victory in the upcoming by-election.

“Our focus now is to retain the Port Dickson seat and I have called on the party members to unite and work hard to retain the seat,” he told reporters after meeting with PKR members and leaders from the northern region here last night.

On Wednesday (Sept 12), Port Dickson parliamentary seat incumbent Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah announced his resignation as the MP for the constituency to pave way for the PKR president-elect Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to return to parliament.

Commenting on the statement by PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin who voiced her concerns over the transparency of the party’s decision-making process, Mohamed Azmin said it was a serious opinion  and should be taken into consideration. – Bernama
