PH to restore status of Sabah and Sarawak as partners in the Federation of Malaysia – Mahathir

KOTA KINABALU: The Pakatan Harapan Government will restore the status of Sabah and Sarawak as partners in the Federation of Malaysia.

Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the restoration of Sabah and Sarawak’s status was part of the process to be implemented when the study on the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) was completed.

“The restoration of the status of Sabah and Sarawak as enshrined in MA63 will provide us a solid foundation to improve the relationship of the three regions.”

He said that at the national level Malaysia Day celebration at Padang Merdeka here.

Dr Mahathir also acknowledged the development needs in East Malaysia, adding that the Federal Government would find ways to develop the infrastructure in Sabah and Sarawak.
