KUCHING: Organisers of the National Sales and Service Tax (SST) Course 2018 have advised businesses which have registered for the Sales and Service Tax (SST) to be wary of the details of the legislations and the various provisions.

Not understanding them thoroughly could lead to understatement of liabilities and wrong SST-02 return submissions.

The organisers thus called on businesses to participate in the course as chartered accountant and tax consultant Yee Hun Leek will be invited to speak at the event.

Yee has over 23 years of experience in audit, tax, account and consultancy.

He has his own chartered accountancy firm.

He is also a HRDF, MIA trainer, MyCGAP and author on GST subjects.

“Due to the frequent updates and changes in the laws, SST registrants may have a hard time getting compliant.

“They can seek assistance from the Customs Department and also advice from their tax agents and accountants,” added Yee.

The course will be held at Harbour View Hotel here on Sept 27, to help companies to be prepared for SST, including the practical aspect of SST preparation and return submission.

The scope will also include GST Closure Audit and various transitional issues.

The participants will also be given an opportunity to revert to the speaker within 90 days of attending the course.

The course is oganised by 3ntity Sdn Bhd, and the fee is RM350, which is HRDF claimable.
