Dr Rundi leads delegates to World Water Congress & Exhibition

Sarawak delegates attending IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition in Tokyo.

TOKYO: Utilities Minister Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi is leading a 13-member delegation to the World Water Congress and Exhibition 2018 in Tokyo from Sept 16 to 21.

The group comprises Assistant Minister of Water Supply Datuk Liwan Lagang, the ministry’s permanent secretary Dato Alice Jawan Empaling and representatives from the Ministry of Utilities, Rural Water Supply Department, Kuching Water Board, Sibu Water Board and Laku Management Sdn Bhd.

The World Water Congress & Exhibition 2108 is a biannual event organised by International Water Association (IWA), which brings together more than 5,500 water, environment and related professionals from over 100 countries to present and discuss matters related to water management.

This is a global event that covers the entire water cycle for water professionals.

Themed ‘Shaping Our Water Future’, the congress has 187 sessions, 88 technical sessions, 52 workshops, nine keynote addresses and six leadership forums covering topics on pioneering science, technological innovation and the leading practices from all over the world to shape the transformation in water management globally.

The delegates are tasked to learn and bring back new insights, technologies and best practices that are applicable to the water supply industry in Sarawak and to improve its water supply.
