Father and sons caught consuming drug

SANDAKAN: A 16-year-old boy and his brother, 19, who have been consuming methamphetamine, found out that their 50-year-old father has also been taking the same drug.

The National Anti-drugs Agency (AADK) found this when the family members tested positive with Methamphetamine.

AADK Sandakan conducted an operation (Ops Perdana) throughout Sandakan district recently, where the two boys and their father were detained at their house at Bukit Garam, Kinabatangan, after being suspected of consuming dangerous drugs.

Head of AADK Sandakan, Aisyah Abdul Karim, who headed the operation with 11 other personnel, said the boys did not know that their father was also using syabu until they were all tested positive with Methamphetamine in their urine tests.

It was learnt that the 16-year-old boy was no longer going to school.

Aisyah said a total of 28 people were arrested during the operation under Section 3(1) of Drugs Dependent (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983. Out of those held, 22 were tested positive with Methamphetamine, including the two boys and their father.

Out of the 22 suspects, there were two youngest suspects aged 16, while three are aged 17 to 18, 13 aged 19 to 40, three aged 41 to 50 and one aged 51 to 60.

No drugs were seized during the operation.
