MIRI: The call-up system at Tudan Polyclinic Clinic here broke down yesterday causing a long queue before it was restored within an hour.

Miri MP Dr Michael Teo and PKR National Women vice-chief Voon Shiak Ni visited the clinic upon receiving complaints from the public regarding the matter and met with Tudan clinic officer-in-charge Dr Maurice Steve Utap.

According to Dr Maurice, the problem with the clinic’s call-up system had caused a long queue in the morning and they resorted to manual numbering for the patients while waiting for the machine to be repaired, which took an hour.

Dr Teo commended the clinic for the fast action.

“I am happy Dr Maurice was able to solve the issue as soon as possible by using the manual way because I can see how congested this clinic will be if they waited for the technician to finish the repair.

“The welfare of the people is the priority of the federal government and I will try to improve the healthcare services in Miri,” he added.

The crowded clinic which receives about 700 to 800 patients daily is providing treatment services to some 130,000 residents from Jalan Pujut 7 up to the Kuala Baram area.
