Girl, 6, rescued after leg stuck in bathroom drainage pipe

SERIAN: Firefighters here were summoned to rescue a child whose leg became trapped in the bathroom drainage pipe here yesterday.

A spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said its personnel were deployed to Taman Pasir following a distress call by the six-year-old girl’s parents at 12.31pm.

“The girl’s parents contacted the department after they were unable to free their daughter’s leg from the pipe.

“Firefighters broke the cement floor in order to extract the pipe, and were able to free the girl’s leg after about three hours.

Medical personnel were also on hand to inspect the victim following her rescue, and found that she did not sustain any injuries.
