Man found dead in car, case classified as sudden death

KUCHING: A man was found dead in his car along Jalan Sultan Tengah, nearby the Petra Jaya fire station here today.

The deceased, identified as Jimmy Bobbie, 38, who hailed from Taman Sukma, was found unconscious by passer-by in a white compact car and contacted the police at 8.30am.

District police chief ACP Ng Ah Lek said policemen from Gita police station were deployed to the scene.

“Firefighters had to break the left rear window to unlock the car. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel summoned to the scene,” he said when contacted today.

The body have been brought to the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for post-mortem.

Ng pointed out that initial investigation revealed that the victim have various medical history such as high blood pressure, diabetes and critical epilepsy.

He disclosed that the victim had previously sought medical treatment on Sept 12 at SGH.

“Police have ruled out foul play and investigation is still ongoing,” he said adding that the case have been classified as sudden death.
