MIRI: Koperasi Sawit Dayak Sarawak (Kosawida), the cooperative arm of Sarawak Dayak Oil Palm Planters Association (Doppa), plans to venture into the fertiliser and chemical supply businesses in collaboration with several palm oil mills in Sarawak.

The long-term proposal would involve native customary rights (NCR) land development; managing, owning and operating fresh-fruit bunch collection centres; or having joint-venture (JV) in medium-sized palm oil mills.

Kosawida publicity officer Incham Serdin said this was among the resolutions reached during the cooperative’s first annual general meeting (AGM) in Bintulu late last month, which also held the election of its board of directors.

Kosawida’s board of directors chairman is Napolean Ningkos, assisted by secretary Bunie Japah and treasurer Mancha Ulak.

Other board members are Doppa president Dr Richard Mani Banda, Jonathan Pengiran, Incham, Dan Giang, Tohit Nyagam, Mada Nyelang, Lawing Luat, Martin Atok, Peter Gon, Ngumbang Jampong, Ali Basah and Timothy Gima.

On Kosawida’s plan to embark on fertiliser and chemical supply business and collaborations with a number of palm oil mills, both Richard Mani and Napolean are calling upon all Doppa members to subscribe to Kosawida’s shares at RM500 per share, while existing shareholders may also increase their stake up to RM8,000.
