KUCHING: The Football Association of Sarawak (FAS) will be taking legal action against the blog writer of the article ‘Hutang Sarawak FA cukup besar’ that appeared on the ‘Sarawak Crocs’ portal.

FAS president Dato Posa Majais, who denied that there is any truth in the allegation, regarded it as clear slander against him and a move to smear the good name of FAS.

“After consulting the lawyer, I will not hesitate this time to take action against the blog writer whom we have identified.

“The ‘Sarawak Crocs’ blog writer is spoiling the efforts of FAS in developing football in the state. Whatever FAS have done have not received any support from the writer but instead posted negative comments,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

Posa said he wants the writer to come up with the proof of the allegation that FAS has owed four months of salaries to the players.

“I would also want to know which player has not received his salary for four months,” he asked.

“I take this opportunity to announce that the Sarawak squad including players, coaches and management will be fully dissolved in order to form a better team that is more solid for the new season.

“I would like to thank all players, coaches and team management for their contribution. In order to address our weaknesses and poor performance last season, we have no choice but to take this move and this decision is final.

Posa said the team will be strengthened with new players and a new line of coaches for the new season.

“To all the fans and supporters, I would like to extend my heartiest appreciation to you for the strong support throughout the season.

We will come back better and stronger the next season,” he vowed.

According to him, selection of the new squad will be carried out early next month.
