Action plan to curb subsidized goods leakage in Sebatik Island on the way

TAWAU: Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) is in the process of drawing up a comprehensive enforcement action plan to curb leakage of subsidized goods in Sebatik Island.

KPDNHEP state deputy director V. Ravichandran said the ministry held briefings and dialogues with the people and residents of Sebatik Island today, to collect information related to leakage issues on the island that extend beyond the national border lines.

Tawau KPDNHEP officers will conduct checks on Sebatik Island and jetty in Tawau area and action will be taken against any traders or individuals who are trying to smuggle out control items or create leakage in Tawau district, he said.
