Tangau wins UPKO presidency uncontested

KOTA KINABALU: Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau is now officially the president of United Pasokmomogun KadazanDusun Murut Organization (UPKO) after winning the post uncontested in the just concluded party election.

In fact, all the top posts in the party were uncontested and this means that former secretary general, Datuk Donald Mojuntin, is now UPKO’s deputy president.

The five vice presidents are Datuk Ewon Benedick, Datuk Masiung Banah, Datuk Limus Jury, Datuk Abidin Madingkir and Datuk Dr Lukas Umbul.

Felix Joseph Saang is now UPKO Youth chief, the post which became vacant after the resignation of Arthur Sen a few months ago. Kennedy John and Petrus Mojuntin are now the deputy Youth chief and vice Youth chief respectively.

Datin Juliana Jani assumed the Women chief post vacated by Datin Seri Jaina Sintian, while Nazlin Jemandan and Misnah Rambanau are now the deputy Women chief and vice Women chief respectively.

UPKO Komulakan will be led by Willy Frous Darinsok while deputy Komulakan chief and vice Komulakan chief posts will be held by Selvestone Junit and Mohd Affi Bazli Liman respectively.

Twenty-five members contested for the 16 supreme council posts and those who won were Dr Peter Jr Naintin, Datuk Johnny Intang, Sylvester Taing, Basari Sarkun, Akuang Suan, Joisin Romut, Condrad Wong, Dennison R Indang, Kennedy John Angian, Miming Pornama, Lawrence Odong, Carl Moosom, Japari Kunin, Padis Majingkin, Stephen Jimbangan and Raymond Jury.
