Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2018 to expect 7,000 to 8,000 Sarawakians in Peninsular

KUALA LUMPUR: The ‘Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2018′ which will kick-off tomorrow will be expecting between 7,000 to 8,000 Sarawakians attendants that are either working or studying in West Malaysia.

The event which will be held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), will be featuring booths and exhibitions that are focused on the current policy and development efforts happening in Sarawak.

Sarawakians residing inWest Malaysia will have the opportunity to learn more about the development which the State Government is currently doing in Sarawak.

Coordinator for the booths and exhibitions of Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak, Dato Sri Rohani Abdul Karim said that disseminating and sharing of information will enable Sarawakians working and studying in West Malaysia understand what the State Government is doing.

Rohani who is also the Batang Lupar assemblywoman said that there will be about 70 booths opened from 9 am until 9pm, where 34 out of 70 booths are from the ministries, associations and service counters, while the rest are involving the entrepreneurs from Sarawak and Sarawakians in West Malaysia.

“We want to share with Sarawakians who are working and studying in West Malaysia on the developments and updates which the State Government is doing including information on education opportunities and employments.

“I encourage Sarawakians working and studying here, to please join us in Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2018 and see for yourself, get the first hand information what the State Government is doing like updates on Petros, Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS) and many more.

“You will also get better view and accurate information rather than what has been shared in the social media which may not be accurate,” said Rohani when speaking to the Sarawak based local radio station, here.

Apart from the booths and exhibitions, a town hall session with the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will also be held during the event to highlight the directions of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

During the session, the forum will touch on important topics such as the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and the oil and gas (O&G) issues in the state.

The one day event will end with a dinner where head of state Yang diPertua Negeri, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud is expected to grace the function.

Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak which started in 2008 initially was an Aidilfitri Open House idea mooted by Petra Jaya Member of Parliament, Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah Haji Yusof.

This time round, the 11th Edition of Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak with its theme ‘Kamek Sayang Sarawak, Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak 2018’ is chaired by Santubong Member of Parliament, Dato Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

Sarawakians in West Malaysia attending the Lan Berambeh Anak Sarawak this time round will also be able to sample varieties of local signature dishes of Sarawak like our infamous Kolo Mee and Laksa Sarawak, while being able to purchase local Sarawak products and many more.
