MIRI: Miri police are summoning individuals who were caught on CCTV footage to appear before the police to testify for a murder case that occurred earlier this year in August.

Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said a 37-year-old local man was found dead at a house at Bandar Baru Permyjaya here on August 25.

He said the case is currently being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

According to Lim, initial investigation found that the cause of the death of the victim was internal bleeding as a result of head injuries allegedly from a fight in Bandar Baru Permyjaya area.

“The incident was recorded in the CCTV where several men were identified to be involved in the fight.

“Accordingly, the individuals seen in the CCTV footage are required to appear to testify on this case to the police,” said Lim in a statement to the media at around 3pm today.

Attached together with his statement are several image captures from the CCTV footage.

Lim also urged Mirians to channel any information regarding this case to the police to resolve the investigation.
