KUCHING: The Tasik Biru Boot Sales 2018 scheduled on Nov 3- 4 will be another exciting event lined up for Bau, not long after the success of the recent Pesta Tasik Biru.

This event, jointly organised by the Bidayuh Entertainers Association of Kuching (BEAK) and the Tasik Biru assemblyman service centre, is believed to be the first ever to be organised in Bau district.

(From left) BEAK president Joseph Goyeng is joined by Japra Rase, Sheila Francis and Jack Oduin for a photo after their meeting.

According to the organisers, the event aims to promote the new and simple alternative idea of doing sales and at the same time raise awareness on BEAK and its activities.

“The car boot sales concept is very popular especially in European countries. Hence, we find this concept is ideal as well for Bau now that it is becoming a popular destination for visitors.

“This event is also aimed at spurring the local economy and also to popularise Bau as a tourism area.

“We also wish to promote BEAK at this event and we will hold a membership drive to encourage more entertainers to join the association,” said BEAK chairman Joseph Goyeng.

He said the event will be held at Tasik Biru recreation park car park, and it is expected to gather some 50 or more participants.

Any items can be put up for sale at the boot of the vehicles of the participants, he added.

“To keep the crowd entertained, there will be entertainment such as busking and karaoke. There will also be lucky draws with attractive prizes awaiting the winners.

“All are welcome to this event,” he said.
