She said the launch of the event would be officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg during the Songket and Keringkam Pesona International Night to be held here on Oct 31.

“It is part of the Malay Heritage Festival 2018 that will provide opportunities for local communities and tourists to reminisce the Malay heritage nostalgia in Kuching.

These activities will expand the visibility of the kampung heritage nationally and internationally,” she told Bernama yesterday.

The Malay Heritage Festival 2018, from Oct 27-28, will be the first of its kind to be held in Sarawak as part of the Old Kuching Heritage initiative to make Kuching a world historic city and continues to be a catalyst in boosting the economy from the tourism sector.
