Delivery man charged with retaining stolen Mercedes Benz car

PETALING JAYA: A delivery man pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here yesterday on a charge with retaining a stolen Mercedes Benz car that belonged to a businessman last week.

M Nathan, 34, made the plea after the charge was read out before Judge Hilmiah Yusof.

He was charged with dishonestly retaining the car belonging to Ong Chooi Lee, 56, which was stolen in the commission of a gang-robbery in Subang Jaya.

The offence was allegedly committed at the car park of Prima U1 Condominium, Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam, near here at 8.20pm last Oct 16.

The charge was made under Section 412 of the Penal Code which provides for imprisonment up to 20 years and fine, if found guilty.

The court allowed him bail of RM10,000 in one surety and fixed Dec 10 for mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Asyraf Ashy’ari Kamaruzaman prosecuted, while Nathan was unrepresented. — Bernama
