KUCHING: About 1,300 participated in ‘Walk With Me for Cancer Awareness’ at The Amphitheatre, Taman Budaya here yesterday.
The 5km walk was jointly organised by National Cancer Society Malaysia Sarawak Branch, Society of Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Kuching and Sarawak Children’s Cancer Society, with Kuching North City Commission as the main supporter.
Assistant Minister of Law, State-Federal Relations and Project Monitoring Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali who officiated at the event also took part in the walk.

The walk was a platform to increase public awareness of cancer and show love, support and camaraderie for cancer patients, cancer survivors and caregivers.
There was a Zumba warm-up session and a quiz-based lucky draw to encourage participants to learn more about cancer.
Big Box Media, Borneo Medical Centre, CityOne Megamall, Farmasi Alpro, Hydro Premier, Rehab Concept and IJM Land were sponsors of the walk.
