KOTA KINABALU: Police would be on standby at “hot spots” when the High Court delivers its verdict on the civil suit challenging the legitimacy of Datuk Seri Panglima Mohd Shafie Apdal as Chief Minister of Sabah.

Sabah police commissioner Datuk Omar Mammah said personnel would be deployed on the day of the decision, November 7, around the court compound as well as other places.

“Personnel would be stationed around the court to maintain order. Aside from that, we would also place personnel in other areas, particularly the Sabah State Administrative Centre as we received information that certain parties might cause disturbance.

“We would also like to remind supporters on both ends to respect the safety and peace of others, and especially not to do anything that goes against the law.

“If that happens, we have no choice but to arrest whoever threatens the safety of others or disrupt court proceedings.

“Respect the law, the safety of others and be responsible in keeping peace while proceedings take place,” he said.
