KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of international Trade and Industry (MITI) is initiating an administrative review of anti-dumping duties on imports of cold rolled coils (CRC) from China, South Korea and Vietnam.

MITI, in a statement yesterday, said a set of questionnaires would be provided to interested parties by Nov 12 while other interested parties may requested for the questionnaires no later than Nov 19.

“Interested parties may also provide additional supporting evidence to MITI before Dec 6. In the event of no response is received within the specified period, the government will make its final findings based on the best facts available,” it said.

The ministry said in accordance with Act 504 and the Countervailing and Anti-Dumping Duties Regulations 1994, the government would initiate the administrative review and the final determination of the administrative review would be made within 180 days from the date of initiation.

On Oct 11, the government received a petition from an interested party requesting for an administrative review of anti-dumping duties on imports of cold rolled coils from China, South Korea and Vietnam.

This is in accordance with section 28 (1)(a) of the Countervailing and Anti-dumping Duties Act 1993 (Act 504), in which it is based on the grounds that the dumping margins have changed substantially.

The original anti-dumping investigation was initiated on Aug 27, 2015, and the final affirmative anti-dumping duties were imposed for a period of five years from May 24, 2016, until May 23, 2021, ranging from 3.06 per cent to 23.78 per cent. — Bernama
