KUCHING: An unofficial list of winners in the just concluded Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) election went viral early this morning on social media, and based on the names of the list, leaders aligned to team Mohd Azmin Ali were found to have dominated the top level of the party hierarchy.

Apart from Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who won uncontested to succeed his wife, Datuk Seri Wan Azizah Ismail as party president, the only person from camp Rafizi Ramli to win the race for the Vice President posts is Anwar’s daughter, Nurul Izzah Anwar.

A political observer who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the PKR election results have proven that Rafizi Ramli ‘Invoke’ initiative was not enough to cause an upset.

From their experience on the ground, the observer noted that an experienced ‘kampong level’ politician is able to mobilise 10,000 voters in Sarawak in just 12 hours of well executed planning.

“It requires a lot of resources, planning and execution of the plan,” he said.

To be able to get 10,000 person to vote in Sarawak, he added is not impossible and is a normal thing that happened in every election in the state.

“The most important thing is transportation arrangement, it is not easy and you must have very good machinery at the grassroots level,” he said.

He said he was anticipating team Rafizi Ramli to be able to deliver the 13,000 voters from Julau to swing the election result, and unseat Azmin Ali from the deputy president seat.

“However, Rafizi was only able to mobilise less than 2,000 people. I thought he was so smart and brilliant. I think he was going to use his Invoke method that they claimed to have won PRU14. It was proven he is not that smart after all.

“Instead of 13,000 voter or at least 10,000 required to win and be kingmaker, Rafizi was only getting 1,140 votes from Julau,” he sneered.

To add insult to injury, an official report has been lodged to Malaysia Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) accusing team Rafizi of money politic in Julau.

PKR communication director, Fahmi Fadzil was contacted to confirm the unofficial list’s veracity, but has not replied at time of writing.
