HSL’s newly launched terraced houses at Highfields 3 in Jalan Batu Kawa
KUCHING: Hock Seng Lee’s (HSL) newly launched terraced houses at Highfields 3 in Jalan Batu Kawa here have recorded bookings of more than 60 per cent.
According to a press release, HSL launched the 32 units of two-storey terraced houses earlier this month to coincide with the tabling of the federal government’s feel-good Budget 2019 which among others contained measures that made home ownership easier.
“I think home seekers have found value in our latest launch. Measures like stamp duty exemption announced in Budget 2019 also drove bookings. We are happy with how the public has responded,” senior property development manager Tay Chiok Kee said.
Highfields 3 was launched offering intermediate units priced from RM468,888 and the houses come in either classic or modern designs with a floor area from 1,861-sq-ft.
Tay said visitors commented on the houses’ seven metre width, “which is large since most new terraced houses are built to 6.1m only” and liked the full-length car porch roof from the living room to the gate.
“The houses have jacked up roofs on the second floor, allowing in natural light meaning even the intermediate units are bright. It gives the houses a premium, airy feel,” he said.
Other design features that HSL incorporated into Highfields 3 are bathroom wall tiles above nine feet, quality floor tiles on the first floor and solid timber on the second floor.
All Highfields 3 homes are built with red bricks and steel roof trusses.
“We really tried to plan in all the necessities so that buyers do not have to spend more on renovation. Another key selling point is low density. We only have eight units per acre, which is 25 per cent lower than new terraced housing developments,” Tay said.
He added only terraced houses were launched in this phase due to market sentiment.
“For buyers who prefer semi-detached units, we have limited units under construction at Highfields phase 2.”
Notably, Tay said that online commentators had compared Highfields 3’s entry price point to apartment prices.
Highfields 3’s sample units remain opened daily and sales staff are ready to meet potential buyers at Highfields 2’s fully furnished showhouse.
