Rosmah, Tengku Adnan, Rizal and businessman Tan post bail

KUALA LUMPUR: Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak’s wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor and her former special officer, Datuk Rizal Mansor who were charged with corruption yesterday posted half of the RM1 million bail.

A check at the bail payment counter at the Court Complex building here revealed that Rosmah and Rizal, each paid RM500,000 at about 4.30pm.

They were seen accompanied by their family members and lawyers.

The court had ordered that the balance of the bail amount be settled within seven days for Rosmah while Rizal was required to settle the amount latest byNov 22.

Rosmah’s demeanour attracted the media when she was seen having a friendly chat with a pregnant bank employee and stroking the woman’s belly after paying the bail.

Rosmah was heard asking on the conceived infant’s gender and when she was told it will be a girl, she jokingly said “hopefully she has my daughter’s looks,” which left the crowd laughing.

Meanwhile, former Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor paid his RM1 million bail in full.

Businessman Datuk Tan Eng Boon, who was charged with giving bribes, only appeared at the payment counter at about 5pm accompanied by his lawyers.

Tan settled his RM700,000 bail in full. —Bernama
