LIMBANG: A 31-year-old male civil servant has attempted to attacked his colleague and supervisor with a machete at their office here yesterday afternoon due to a dispute over his received annual work performance appraisal (SKT).

According to Limbang Police Superintendent, Mohd Bukhori Saffai, the victim a 34-year-old woman was confronted by the suspect armed with a machete at 2.15pm yesterday.

Before the incident, the suspect had called out the victim for a discussion, but as she was reluctant, he attempted to attack the victim with the machete. His attack was blocked by other colleagues.

“Before the incident, there was a misunderstanding between the victim and the suspect in relation to this work issue but was resolved internally,” he said.

He added that based on the victim’s information, the suspect was a hot-headed individual and did not receive any reprimand for previous disputes.

The suspect was arrested in a house at Jalan Buangsiol at 12:35 pm yesterday.

His remand application will be filed at the Limbang Magistrate’s Court today for further action under Section 5o6 of the Penal Code.
