KUCHING: The second edition of International Traditional Natural Medical Physician conference will be held from Nov 24 to 25 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here with 14 speakers from around the world participating.

Organised by Federation of Chinese Medicine and Physicians Sarawak and Federation of Sarawak Traditional Physicians and Complementary Medicine, the speakers will share their best medical practices and scientific research.

The conference is believed to be the biggest of its kind in the world.  The two-day event will also see about 80 counters set up, selling various medical products besides providing free medical consultation

On Nov 25, a free medical consultation will be held for the public at the BCCK lobby with more than 200 doctors and therapists present in conjunction with the conference. Medicines will be distributed to the public free-of-charge.

A blood donation drive will also be held on the same day.

Two hundred early birds on each day will be given free food vouchers, and entrance is limited due to seats constraint

Organising chairman Professor Dato Sri Dr Tan Kit Weng, who is also advisor to the American Academy of Naturopathic Medicine and president of Federation of Chinese Medicine and Physicians Sarawak and Federation of Sarawak Traditional Physicians and Complementary Medicine, has contributed RM600,000 to the event to provide free medicines to the public.

“Treatments on Nov 25 are free. The medicines are free,” he told reporters at his clinic in Jalan Rock here yesterday.

Dr Tan urged people of all races and even foreigners to take advantage of the free medical consultations, adding that the conference might be the last one to be held in Sarawak as he’s looking at retirement.

Counters are still open for sale at RM1,800 each and registrations will close on Nov 22.

The two-day event, to open from 8.30am to 6pm, is sponsored by Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports.

Registration for the conference and free medical consultation on Nov 25 can be made on the spot or through Tan Kit Weng Chinese Physician Specialist Centre at Lot 8581, Jalan Rock, Taman Timberland, 93200 Kuching or via Whatsapps 010-9473689 or contact 082-237739.
