Abdul Azeez, brother to be charged today

Abdul Aziz arrives at MACC headquarters at Putrajaya to facilitate the investigation on a corruption case.

PUTRAJAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday detained Baling MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim and his brother Datuk Abdul Latif Abdul Rahim to face charges related to corruption and money laundering today.

MACC in statement here  said the commission had received the go  ahead to charge them from the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

MACC said Abdul Azeez, 52,  and  Abdul Latif, 58,  were detained at 4.30 pm after they presented themselves at the MACC headquarters here.

They had arrived separately with  Abdul Azeez  seen arriving at 2.55 pm in a red Proton Perdana car.

The commission said that the duo will be charged at the Kuala Lumpur Sessions Court tomorrow (Jan 16)  under the  MACC Act 2009  and Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-.
