Police remand young woman in connection to businessman’s murder

KUCHING: A 24-year-old woman has been remanded for five-days to facilitate the police investigation of the murder of 37-year-old businessman Tang Tung Kuok.

The body of the man found at an abandoned bungalow at Jalan Dusun off Jalan Ong Tiang Swee here has been reportedly identified as belonging to Tang, according to court documents.

The woman was roped in by the police at around 4pm yesterday following the discovery of the body.

It is still uncertain if the young woman is a suspect or just assisting the police in the probe, but she appeared at a magistrates’ court here today for the application of  a remand order.

It was claimed that when found yesterday, Tang’s body was in a decomposed state, and that an employee who worked for him was brought in to help identify the body.

The worked claimed that the body was Tang’s judging from a wristwatch and a gold ring found on it.
