MIRI: Local football fans are invited to come out in force to support the Sarawak squad for this year’s President Cup season scheduled to start in mid-February.

Team manager Nazri Datuk Ahmad Lai, who made the call, said the State Under-19 team comprised young and talented players from all over the state.

The 26 players who were selected on Jan 11 will begin their twice daily training at Miri Stadium from today (Jan 16).

The squad has a good mix of experienced and fresh talents. They include nine former President Cup players, eight former Youth Cup players and another nine making their debut. Miri will host Sarawak’s home matches this year at the Miri Stadium.

According to Nazri, the young Crocs are working hard and eager to bring Sarawak football back to its glory days with the backing of our football fans.

“Our players are in high spirits and we also have twin Richman Jack Damsey and Rachman Jack Damsey from Serian who are among our new players. This could be our next Ramles Sari and Ramos Sari.

He added that the boys are in good hands under the charge of Jalil Ramli, Pengiran Bala, Abu Bakar Amran and Jahar Nor.
