PENAMPANG: Homebuyers of Gardens @ Bundusan Apartment have urged the state government to intervene as their problems have remained unresolved since early 2017.

Firdaus Abdullah, who represented the homebuyers, said problems continued to arise when more than 50 residents were forced to use the access road from the South East (via Lorong Formosa B), instead of the North East (via Taman Mahkota).

Firdaus said the access road from the South East is too narrow and winding with high voltage along it.

“Anybody knows that this is danger waiting to happen.

“You have a narrow road with high voltage electrical poles standing along the road. There are more than 50 homeowners driving in and out via this road daily.

“Imagine if there is an accident. What then? Did the contractor (of the project) ever think of the safety of the residents?” he asked.

According to Firdaus, most of the purchasers were unable to move into their new homes although the project was completed in January 2017.

“Owners purchased the property since early 2014 but can’t move into their homes.

“Part of the reason is that the contractor was not granted Occupancy Certificate (OC) by Majilis Daerah Penampang due to problems with the access road.

“This problem has been ongoing for more than two years and owners are angry with what is happening.

“We have tried everything and our last resort is to ask the state government, particularly Chief Minister Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal, to intervene,” he said.
