KUCHING: Police were seen escorting a male suspect to identify the alleged murder weapon that was used in the killing of 37-year-old businessman Tang Tung Kuok today.

The male suspect, dressed in a detainee’s orange jumpsuit, was escorted by a large group of police officers and a forensics team behind a commercial shoplot in Jalan Sekama this morning to identify what appears to look like a large knife on the ground.

Tang was found dead at an abandoned house at Jalan Dusun off Jalan Ong Tiang Swee on Jan 15.

A young woman was detained in connection to the case on Jan 15, appearing in a magistrate’s court to facilitate investigations into the murder.

According to Sarawak Criminal Investigations Department chief SAC Denis Leong, the male suspect is the sixth suspect who was arrested by the police on Jan 16.

Leong was however tight-lipped with any other information as investigations are still ongoing.
