Repair and refurbish works at two schools on schedule

MIRI: The renovation of  SJKC Chung Hua Miri and SK Anchi under the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) are on schedule and will be completed on time.

Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew who visited the schools Friday said that he was happy with the work progress adding that it would provide a conducive school environment to benefit the students.

“The facilities at these schools are very old and it is time to refurbish and repair them so that they would not pose any danger to the students,” said Ting.

He revealed that he had allocated and distributed RM106,000 and RM848,000 to SJKC Chung Hua Miri and SK Anchi respectively from his RTP fund.

At SJKC Chung Hua Miri, there are about eight areas that needed immediate attention and nearly 80 per cent of the works have been completed.

The works done included resurfacing the concrete floor in front of teachers’ office, repairing the rooftop of the canteen and replacing shed cover at the pedestrian walkway outside the school.

All scheduled works are estimated to be completed by the end of the month.

Meanwhile, at SK Anchi, the repair works include the shed in between the special children buildings, replacement of eight new classroom doors, extending the walkway and bus stop shed.
