KUCHING: Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (Sheda) Kuching Branch’s 1st Home & Property Roadshow 2019 is a great time for buyers to take advantage of the stamp duty exemption on residential properties priced RM1 million and below.

According to Sheda, there will be an exemption of stamp duty for purchase of residential properties priced RM1 million and below between January 1 to June 30, 2019.

Kuching Branch chairman Sim Kiang Chiok pointed out that this is not only beneficial for shoppers, but also for developers as it is the best time to sell properties now.

“The government has put in the incentive, whether big or small, it will help push the sluggish market now,” Sim told the media yesterday.

On the real property gains tax (RPGT) as per the Budget 2019, he noted that the Ministry of Finance has increased the RPGT on Jan 1, 2019.

“However, the federal government has agreed to exempt RPGT to individual Malaysian citizens who dispose their properties at a consideration price of RM200,000 and below,” he clarified.

The Sheda Kuching Branch’s 1st Home & Property Roadshow 2019 will be held on April 5 to 7, 2019, and is an early opportunity in the Year of the Boar for developers and real estate agents to promote their projects and branding.

The roadshow, to be held at the ground floor of Vivacity Megamall from 10am to 10pm, serves as a one-stop venue for consumers and investors who are seeking to find the best property deals plus related products as well as services.

“Sheda Kuching Branch has been organising multiple Home & Property Roadshows in a year for the benefit of Sheda members and consumers in Sarawak,” organising chairman Steve Tan said.

“Other than developers, real estate agents and building related trades from Sarawak, West Malaysia and overseas have been keen participants in Sheda Kuching Branch’s Roadshows throughout the years.”

“Reservation of booths are now available for developers to showcase their current and new project launches. Other related industry players are also invited to market their products and services at the roadshow.”

There are currently 36 booths available for booking, with two variants to choose from: 2.5 metres by three metres and three metres by three metres.
