MIRI: The Sarawak Government Pensioners Association Miri branch visited the Miri Home for the Aged in Krokop yesterday to distribute food aid.

This was the association’s second time contributing to the home, with the first being in 2015.

Chairman Dennin Fredericks said assistance and contributions should be given to those in need regardless of race, culture, or religion.

“We are one big family, regardless of our race or religion. The spirit of cooperation among the people of this state is the main asset for Sarawak to move forward and it is our responsibility to help each other,” he said.

Dennin said he hopes the home’s residents would continue to exercise daily and move about to maintain good health.

“With this age, we all need to keep moving so that our health will be maintained and I hope that our Chinese New Year contributions today will bring cheer to the residents,” he said.
