MIRI: Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs has opened a Consumer Service Counter (K2P) at Krokop Market Lorong 10 here to facilitate consumers to make immediate complaints regarding prices of goods.

The ministry’s branch head here Joe Azmi Jamil said the counter will open for the entire period throughout the Chinese New Year Price Control Scheme (SKHMP) 2019 which from January 30 till February 8.

He said consumers with any complaints regarding the prices of goods or the weighing scale could lodge their complaint at the K2P for immediate action.

“If consumers are not satisfied with the price of goods, especially for goods listed under the scheme where it is sold higher than the prescribed price, they can go straight to the counter to make a complaint.

“In addition, we also provide a weighing scale at the counter to facilitate consumers to weigh the items they purchased if they doubt the weighing scale used by the trader at the market,” he said when contacted yesterday.

The service counter will open from 8 am to 11 am with two enforcement officers stationed there.

“Apart from the festive season, we also set up the K2P at Krokop Market every weekend. Priority is given to the Krokop Market as it is the largest market in Miri,” he said.
